Launching a new salon means introducing the people behind it. For George Katsaros Hair Salon in Rickmansworth, I developed a portrait style and photographed approximately 12 members of staff on location for the team page of the salon’s new website.
The project has continued beyond launch: George now sends new employees to my Rickmansworth studio for headshots that match the original set.
A portrait style for a new salon
George Katsaros was launching a new salon and website in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The staff page needed portraits of the people clients would meet at the salon.
I developed the visual style for the portraits and photographed approximately 12 employees on location. The aim was a coherent team look with room for individual personality, using clothing, colour and salon details to give the portraits character.
On-location headshots alongside a content shoot
The original staff portraits were photographed in one day at the salon, alongside a wider social media content shoot. I photographed stills while a separate video team created video content.
This brought the photography and video work into the same shoot day, with the staff portraits created for the salon’s new website.
Matching headshots as the team grows
The work did not end with the website launch. George now sends new employees to my Rickmansworth studio for headshots that match the original set.
That continuity matters for any growing business. A new colleague’s portrait needs to sit comfortably alongside the existing team, rather than making the staff page look like a collection of unrelated shoots. Keeping the original visual direction gives us a reference for each new portrait.
